Massage Modalities
Swedish - Incorporates gentle gliding movements with connecting holds, vibration and kneading that blend together to soothe the muscles, increase circulation, invigorate the skin, and melt tension.
Deep Tissue - is deep muscle work using specific, slow and deep pressure to release chronic tension and deep holding patterns in the tissue. The focus is on deeper layers of muscle tissue as well as tendons and connective tissue.
CORE Myofascial - has a focus on spreading or softening the fascia, the connective tissue, which is the most abundant tissue in the body. CORE work has a deep stretching quality which results in loosening restrictions, increasing movement and reducing pain.
Sports Massage - is a combination of deep tissue, myofascial work, and various types of stretching. It can be done pre or post event or as part of a regular maintenance program to help keep the body fit for workouts and specific sports. Regular massage can assist the body maintaining flexibility, reducing the chances of injury.
Reiki - helps the body to balance its energetic flow in connection with the universal life force. It is often done fully clothed but can be included into a massage session.
Reflexology - is a holistic healing method which focuses on the reflex-oriented points primarily on the feet and hands which has a profound influence on the wholeness of your well-being.
Tuina - is Chinese medical massage that combines aspects of deep tissue, meridian theory and skeletal adjustments* to aid the body in establishing harmony and balance. (*Skeletal adjustments are not part of basic tuina. Tuina is only incorporated as part of the massage session).
Craniosacral Therapy - is a gentle touch therapy that works with movement of cerebrospinal fluid, cranial bones, membranes, and the function of connective tissue of the body to assist the body in its ability to heal itself. (Note: Craniosacral is not available at this time).
